The Bespak GEAR is an exact 10 kilometres (6.2 miles). It is a one lap course around the centre ofKing’s Lynn. The course is on paths and roads, flat and fast, starting and finishing in the town’s historic Tuesday Market Place. Drink stations are provided at 5k, 7.5k and at the finish.

There is also a Mini GEAR Fun Run of 1.2 miles.

The event is organised by the Borough Council of King’sLynnandWest Norfolk, which has associate membership to England Athletics. The race has an official licence 2013-104829 and will be staged in accordance with the UKA rules for competition. The race is awarded Gold Grading by the British Association of Road Races(BARR)

Under UKA rules, to take part in a 10k road race, a runner must be 15 years of age. Therefore, anyone wishing to take part in the GEAR must be 15 years of age on or before the 5th May 2013. Competitors under 18 must have the permission of a Parent or Guardian to enter the race.

UKA affiliated club members must provide their Home Country Governing Body competition/registration number when entering the race.

One element of UKA rules is that those taking part in any licensed race, who are not members of a UKA affiliated club, will be required to pay an additional £2.00 on the entry fee. The extra money is required to cover the cost of insuring an individual, which for affiliated runners is done by their parent club.

Entry fees for 2013 are £17 affiliated and £19 unaffiliated.  Entry is online only.

You will receive confirmation of your entry by email once you have completed the online form and paid the necessary fee, on validation, your name and race number will appear on the Race Entry List.

Once an entry has been received and confirmed, no refund will be possible.
