Rourkie's Cat & Fiddle 55-mile Cycle in aid of Cystic Fibrosis

This 55-mile circular route starts from Stoke-on-Trent and includes the infamous seven-mile Cat & Fiddle climb in the beautiful PeakDistrictNational Park. You can even ride with Sean Kelly!

Location: Brian Rourke Cycles, 194 Waterloo Rd, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent,

Sunday, October 06, 2013

Start time: 8am–9.30am

From Stoke-on-Trent, the 55-mile circular route takes you through Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and the beautiful Peak District National Park, including the infamous seven-mile Cat and Fiddle climb which will leave you breathless not only from the cycling, but also from the stunning scenery that surrounds you.

Some riders do the course in under two hours, some take all day. All receive a big welcome from Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Brian Rourke Cycles at the finish followed by the now legendary home-baked goodies and a cuppa.

This isn't a race, it's a fun run on two wheels and everyone who is competent on a cycle is invited to join us.

We are delighted to welcome back Sean Kelly to ride with you again this autumn. His illustrious career includes winning the Paris-Nice a record seven times and the points jersey in the Tour de France on four occasions.

All participants will be given a drink and gel/energy bar along with route map and directions of the course upon registration.

Whilst it is not a condition of entry, we ask everyone to please use the challenge to raise as much money for the CF Trust as you can.

You can enter online, or enquire using the buttons below.

Since this challenge was started in 2002 it has raised well over £300k for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Our very special thanks go to Brian Rourke and his colleagues for staging this brilliant event, and to all the invaluable volunteers. We are also very grateful to every cyclist who has taken part in the event and, in doing so, has helped steer us closer to beating cystic fibrosis.
