CLAPA cheers runners at London 10k

Date Posted: 01 Dec 2011

On Sunday 11th July, a handful of CLAPA staff met with friends and family of runners to cheer on the participants of the Asics 12th British 10K London Run, 21 of whom were doing it in aid of CLAPA.

Rebecca Bushell from Kent writes: "It was the first 10k run I have ever done. It was really hard, but all worth it knowing that the money I raised is going to an absolutely amazing charity!"

Krista Wills from South London (pictured) writes: “The run was great, it was beautiful running across the river and knowing also that was near the end! It was good to see all your balloons and be cheered on too. Thank you all for the support. I fortunately didn't have any aches and pains - lots of stretches afterwards!”

With nearly £5,000 raised so far between the runners, and the total growing higher every day, we would like to say a huge thank you from everyone at CLAPA for the effort our fantastic runners put into their training and the day itself.

Bassam Zreik (pictured) raised £1,300 by running and fundraising in honour of his daughter Eva who was born in late 2009 with a cleft lip and palate. We can’t wait to see if everyone will reach their ambitious fundraising targets!

You can see more photos of the day on our Flickr page.

CLAPA has another 18 places (all including chip timers) for the 2012 run which will take place on Sunday 15th July. If you are interested in running, e-mail us at fundraising@clapa.com or call us on 020 7833 4883.
