"My name is Silas, I am  6 years old.  I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters

My parents are very poor and struggle to feed our family even though we do have a small plot of land.

2 years ago I was playing football with my school friends when I tripped and a stick stuck in my foot. It was bad.  The cut became infected and the doctor had to cut off my foot. After this operation my foot did not get better and had another infection and it would not heal so the doctor removed more of my leg to just below my knee. I now have to use crutches all the time.   I have not been able to go to school much  in the past two years because of this."
