This is a 5-day course - one day per week (it is modular therefore can also be taken individually) on how to write a budget, set-up and maintain simple bookkeeping system, administer petty cash, reconcile the cash books with bank statement(s); produce a finance report for a management committee that analyses expenditure against the the budget and produce a financial statement (year end accounts).
During the last date - Final accounts - you will learn how to turn a receipts and payments into an income and expenditure account by bringing in accruals, creditors, debtors and prepayments. The statement will also analyse restricted funds. You will produce a balance sheet including how to depreciate your fixed assets.
The course is free of charge for volunteers and management committee members in the Band A areas, including Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea.
