Join us for this winter favourite, hiking 17 miles of stunning Derbyshire countryside.  You're invited to walk this famous trail along the line of an old disused railway track with over 1,000 fellow walkers to raise funds for us, the nation's heart charity.

The Route

This 17 mile linear walk wil start on the High Peak Trail at Sparklow and finish at Comford Meadows, which is also the registration and parking point.  The route follows an old railway line and takes in the rolling limestone countryside and wonderful scenery of the Peak District National Park.

The route takes in Middleton Top where the restored Engine House and Visitor Centre are situated.  The walkers then head downhill to the Black Rocks which overlook the trail and give spectacular views.  So remember to pack your camera!  The trail then follows the Cromford Canal, which takes walkers past the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site, and finally to finish line at Matlock Lions Rugby Club.

We are aiming to raise over £84,000 from this event and we cannot do it without you.  We urge each participant to raise a minimum of £70 sponsorship for BHF's life-saving work across the UK.

This is the money that we rely on to continue our work in the areas of patient care, education and life-saving research. By signing up to one of the coveted places and donating your sponsorship, you will be helping to ensure the BHF can continue this vital work and continue to save lives.

We ask that you aim to get your sponsorship to us by 20 January 2013.
