Growing the future work of Amigos
Make a lasting stand against poverty and injustice by remembering Amigos in your Will
However large or small, every gift, in every will, makes a huge difference to our mission to bring self-sustainability, dignity and hope to some of the most vulnerable young people in Uganda. Through a number of programmes, including vocational training, education, holistic life-skills and a flourishing child sponsorship scheme, Amigos is bringing the opportunity of education to many disadvantaged children and teenagers.
At Kira Farm Training Centre (KFTC), the majority of our students come from the northern regions of Uganda, an area which has experienced more than two decades of brutal conflict. Many of these students were abducted as children and forced to fight with the rebel army and all have spent time living in camps for Internally Displaced People. All of our students have experienced extreme poverty and have harrowing stories of hardship and loss.
At Kira Farm students are educated in conservation farming, learning an appreciation of natural resources, innovative technology and effective land management in order to unlock the potential of the land. Based on proven techniques, which have been used across sub-Saharan Africa with tremendous effects, conservation farming results in a dramatic increase in yield alongside improving the long-term productivity of the land and thus reducing the need for chemical fertilizers.
We are strongly committed to ensuring each student acquires the skills required to be financially free. At KFTC young people are given the opportunity to learn from our expanding vocational skills department, including courses in carpentry, tailoring, catering, hairdressing, mechanics and building. Furthermore, through micro-finance loans we are able to assist many students in establishing themselves in small businesses and so enabling them to support themselves and their extended families. The vision is that by partnering Christian discipleship with vocational skills, students can return to their villages equipped practically and emotionally to become the next generation of mothers and fathers. We are convinced that, ultimately, it is only through the transformation of the heart that a life will truly be changed and a sustainable change seen in Africa.
Make a Pledge
Gifts left in wills are really important to Amigos Worldwide. However even if you haven't made a will, making a pledge to do so in the future would really help us to find out about your future intentions.
Pledges are not legally binding so by filling out this form you are not committing yourself! You are simply allowing Amigos Worldwide to confidently estimate future support for their cause.
Leave a Legacy
If you have already made a will but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil.
To leave a legacy to Amigos Worldwide please download the codicil form below and take it along to your solicitor.
Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.
If you have any questions about leaving a legacy to us, please contact Amigos Worldwide directly – they will be happy to discuss this with you.
