Liverpool Memory Walk
Walk the Liverpool Memory Walk for the Alzheimer's Society
Oct 04 2015
About the walk
This September Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. We need thousands of people to walk with us – because arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there.
Hope is the spirit of the day
People of all ages and abilities can join in, from grandparents to grandchildren, and even your furry four-legged friends. It’s a day for everyone to come together, celebrate loved ones affected by dementia, and raise money to reclaim the future.
The International Garden Festival took place in 1984 in Festival Gardens and attracted 3.8 million visitors. Many years later after restoration, the future of the Festival Gardens is secure - and the gates are well and truly open. Take the short of 1.5km around the gardens, taking in the peaceful surroundings. The long 6km route travels out onto the nearby promenade for a stroll towards Otterspool, before returning along the Mersey for a final lap of the gardens. While there are slight slopes, both routes are accessible to wheelchairs. The routes are subject to change.
Join thousands of other people who have been affected by dementia at this year’s Memory Walk.
