Age UK Horsham District is an independent, local charity working within the boundaries of Horsham District, an area of 205 square miles.
Our charity provides direct services to older people, supports the public sector and works with other voluntary like-minded organisations.
In addition to the main urban centre, Horsham Town, the District comprises a number of smaller towns and villages. The population of Horsham District exceeds 130,000, with more than 24,000 aged 65 and over.
Projections indicate that by 2026, the number of over 65-year olds living locally will increase by 60%, leading to a steady increase in demand for the types of services we provide.
Working with partners, Horsham District Council, West Sussex County Council, the Primary Care Trust, social housing providers and our own national organisation, we
- represent the views of older people
- influence the provision of services
- improve access to services
- develop the scope and range of services.
