As AFRUCA grows it's work and take on more volunteers from the community we need more up-to-date technology.

This technology would be used by AFRUCA staff to continue their work and also by AFRUCA service users and volunteers to use to do school work, job applications and internet research. AFRUCA also needs design software so we can bring the designing of our poster, flyers, booklets, images etc in-house to save on costs.

Household good for Trafficking Survivors

Appeal location: Nationwide

00 expired

AFRUCA's project  'Safeguarding Child Victims of Trafficking Across London, the South and the North of England' is in need of goods for the young people we support!

AFRUCA’s response to the issue of child trafficking is premised on the fact that the trafficking of children is first and foremost a child safeguarding and child protection issue, rather than an immigration issue. For this reason, we are firmly of the opinion that efforts to tackle the trafficking of children and provide support for individual victims must abide by and correlate with UK child protection laws, regulation, rules and practices.

AFRUCA currently supports a minumum of 20 young women who have been trafficked from Nigeria and having escaped their situation need support in accessing funds, education and resources. These young women have no income, resources or savings when they leave their sometimes abusive home. AFRUCA supports these women through counselling, one-to-one support, and provides them with a platform to share their story through music and theatre.

Often, when these women are rehoused they are housed in unfurnished properties. As some of them have not received leave to remain they have no recourse to public funds meaning they cannot get a job nor receive benefits to furnsih their house.

AFRUCA needs your support in the way of donations of household goods for these young women whciihcan be seen lsited below:

  • Bedding
  • Utensils
  • microwave
  • fridge freezer
  • laptop
  • kettle
  • cooker
  • mobile phone

With your help, AFRUCA can continue to work towards eradicating child abuse
