Make a lasting difference for people living with sight loss

Leaving a gift in your will is simple, and can make a lasting difference.

After providing for your loved ones, a gift, small or large, could help to transform and improve the quality of life of someone that is living with sight loss in West Sussex.

"Although I received an amount of practical help from state run organisations immediately after my disability started, it was 4Sight Vision Support coming to Midhurst that gave me the professional, personal and caring help that I needed…For me it was a new lease of life, meeting so many other members and blind people, being encouraged to talk to other 4Sight Vision Support members about their condition and how they cope. I felt useful and among friends, which I craved so much" - Anna - 4Sight Vision Support Member

Making a will ensures all your wishes are followed when you die. It will ensure your money is distributed to those you intend to benefit, such as friends, family or charitable causes. There are many qualified professionals to make it simple, affordable and ensure it is done correctly.

There are different types of gifts that you can leave in your will, so going through this with a professional, will ensure all this information is made clear and that you select the type of gift that works best for you and the lasting difference you wish to make.

Here are brief explanations of the most common ways of giving in your will.

Residuary Gift:

This is simply a percentage of the residue of your real and personal estate, donated to let your support continue.

Pecuniary Gift:

A particular sum of money that you have selected to make a lasting difference.

We often change our wills when a significant change occurs in our life. For example: getting married, a new family member, moving house. If you wish to add a gift to 4Sight Vision Support, you may be able to add it as a Codicil. (This is just a simple added instruction to your current will)

Your professional adviser will be able to advise and support you with this.

If you are interested in supporting us this way, or have already decided to leave a gift to 4Sight VIsion Support in your will, we would like to know about your plans as we value your support and your planned support.  We would welcome the opportunity to thank you for making such a special commitment towards our work.

Your support will make a lasting positive difference for people living with sight loss in West Sussex beyond your life.

Make a Pledge

Gifts left in wills are really important to 4Sight Vision Support. However even if you haven't made a will, making a pledge to do so in the future would really help us to find out about your future intentions.

Pledges are not legally binding so by filling out this form you are not committing yourself! You are simply allowing 4Sight Vision Support to confidently estimate future support for their cause.

Leave a Legacy

If you have already made a will but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil.

To leave a legacy to 4Sight Vision Support please download the codicil form below and take it along to your solicitor.

Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.

If you have any questions about leaving a legacy to us, please contact 4Sight Vision Support directly – they will be happy to discuss this with you.
