After spending a long time fundraising, and with our outside area consisting of a large concrete area and some poorly laid rubber mulch, we were finally in a position to go ahead and get a new safety surface.

Getting quotes from several companies we were a little dispondent at the lack of surfaces available to us and the high costs involved, with quotes coming in at over £12,000.  Then we came across MATTA, a unique, colourful safety surface designed specifically for childrens play areas. 

Available in 16 colours, the Matta squares could be installed in an endless combination of colours and patterns, so we could design the area ourselves to be colourful without having to pay any extra like with some products.

This new surface consists of interlocking recycled PVC and rubber tiles, which are installed over a weed barrier membrane and recycled rubber shock pads creating a certified Critical Fall Height (CFH) from 1.7m up to 4.5m, and with a 10 year guarantee. 

It was a no-brainer really and when the Committee and Staff saw the samples and quote for under £8,000 we decided that this was the safety surface for us.
