Q. If you are a UK taxpayer - how can Vegfam claim a free, extra 25p for very £1.00 that you donate to the charity?

A. Simple. By you downloading a Gift Aid form from Vegfam's website (url address at the bottom of this page), filling it in and sending it to Vegfam at the address on the form. Leave the rest to us and the Government will give us 25p for every £1.00 that you have donated and that soons adds up to a lot of extra funding, free of charge, for Vegfam.

Q. How does it work?

A. If you are a UK tax payer, you can increase your donation to Vegfam by 25p for every £1 (at the basic rate of 20% tax), by completing and sending us a Gift Aid form.

You must pay/have paid an amount of income tax or capital gains tax (other taxes eg. VAT and Council Tax do not qualify) for the year of the donation, that is at least equal to the amount that Vegfam and any other charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that you have donated to will reclaim on your donation(s) for that tax year (6th April to 5th April).

The UK Government's Gift Aid scheme enables charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC's) to reclaim tax on all donations received from UK taxpayers (currently 25p for every £1 donation) - at no cost to the charity/CASC or to the donor.

You can obtain further details on giving to charities through Gift Aid from your local tax office or from the HMRC website (http://hmrc.gov.uk/individuals/giving/gift-aid.htm)

To enable Vegfam to reclaim the tax on your donation(s), please complete and sign the simple Gift Aid form that you can download from Vegfam's website (which includes your Gift Aid Declaration) and send it to Vegfam for processing. Alternatively we can send you a form through the post.
