Remembering United Response in Your Will
Leaving a gift to United Response – no matter how large or small – could pay for dedicated support to help someone find a job. It could also help them access skills and training, or provide specialist communication equipment to give people a voice – maybe for the first time in their lives.
Around 7% of total charity income in the UK comes from gifts in people’s Wills – without this invaluable source of support, many of the projects and activities that really make a difference to the lives of people with disabilities would not take place. We do, of course, understand that family and loved ones will always take priority - remembering a charity in your Will doesn’t mean excluding others. Even a small gift can make a real difference.
Prudence, who attended United Response’s Winfield service which provides IT training and support to people with mental health needs in the West Kent Area, left United Response a small gift in her will. She was not especially wealthy, and took care to ensure that her family were provided for, but was able to make a small gift which went directly to Winfield. Thanks to Prudence, Winfield is now able to offer a new web design course and qualification – something that was constantly being asked for by service users – and has also been able to purchase some new computer equipment and software. Prudence was fascinated by the internet, and said she wished she had it ‘in her day’, so we felt this would be a fitting use of her generous gift.
Before being supported by United Response, many of the people we support did not have real choices about how they live their lives. We are working hard to change this – supporting people to make decisions about all areas of their lives. By leaving United Response a gift in your Will, you will be helping to ensure that we are able to continue this valuable work for many years into the future.

Make a Pledge
Gifts left in wills are really important to United Response. However even if you haven't made a will, making a pledge to do so in the future would really help us to find out about your future intentions.
Pledges are not legally binding so by filling out this form you are not committing yourself! You are simply allowing United Response to confidently estimate future support for their cause.
Leave a Legacy
If you have already made a will but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil.
To leave a legacy to United Response please download the codicil form below and take it along to your solicitor.
Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.
If you have any questions about leaving a legacy to us, please contact United Response directly – they will be happy to discuss this with you.
