Christian resources and activities for blind and partially sighted people worldwide
Registered Charity Number: 1095904
Market Harborough, Leicestershire
Torch Trust is committed to the inclusion of people with sight loss in every aspect of Christian and church life. Torch provides Christian resources and activities for blind and partially sighted people worldwide.
Torch aims to tackle the social isolation experienced especially by those who live alone, through a network of local groups and a varied programme of holidays and retreats. We are progressively extending our services to reach those at the earlier stages of the sight loss journey.
Torch also produces Christian resources in a variety of accessible formats with a range of free magazines, books for purchase and a free library lending service. Torch produces a radio show, Reflections, which focuses on faith and disability in today's world and is broadcast on Premier Christian Radio and RNIB Insight Radio.
Torch runs Journeying With, a befriending service that brings Christian volunteers alongside people who are struggling with sight loss. Befrienders can visit the person losing their sight at home, meet out and about, or be a listening ear over the telephone.
