Meet Me at the Albany
Meet Me at the Finish Line
May 25 2015
We currently run a programme called Meet Me at the Albany (MMatA) an innovative artist led group for the over 60’s, which aims to establish a relationship with the elderly community in South East London, as the elderly are a group of people so often forgotten about. This weekly programme runs every Tuesday from 10am to 2pm, and has many activities such as knitting, arts and crafts, singing, games, and movement classes. This is one of the most important programmes we run in our building, as it relieves loniless, boredom, and the stress and confusion brought on by dementia. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who come every week to help facilitate the running of the activities; however the Albany staff presence is still high, therefore making it one of the highest costing programmes.
Ben Stephens, Head of Premises, has volunteered to run 10k on the 25th of May to raise funds for this project. Ben has been in intensive training for weeks on end, and feels ready to run for Meet Me at the Albany, a programme he is keen to see continued.
