The Homelands Trust-Fife is a registered Scottish charity (SC027281). It was set up in 1998 to carry out the wishes of Miss Isabel Paxton of Lundin Links, who generously bequeathed her estate, “Homelands”, to charity. Her wish was to establish and maintain a facility to enable people affected by a range of disabling conditions to have a holiday or a break from living with a long-term condition.

This exciting project, to build four luxury, accessible, self-catering holiday cottages and a disability drop-in centre overlooking the Firth of Forth and Largo Bay in Lundin Links, Fife, is stunning. Three of the cottages  sleep four (six with a sofa bed) and the fourth sleeps eight. All four cottages have a wet-floor shower room and ceiling tracking hoists and a range of other specialist disability equipment.

Adjacent to the cottages there is a drop-in centre, to be known as the Paxton Centre in memory of Miss Paxton. It has therapy and meeting rooms, a kitchen area, open plan office space, toilet facilities, and handyman’s and gardener’s storage space. Group and individual activities on offer will include alternative therapies, self management courses and health walks. It is available for use by Fife residents affected by a range of disabling conditions. Their family, friends and carers will also be welcome. Visitors to the cottages who are affected by disability can also make use of the facility.
