Need help finding a UK registered
charity?
See
below for the search options you can use to find
a UK registered charity:
Charity
Choice Directory online – Explains the various
ways of searching for a charity in detail.
Charity
Category – The category search lists the 34
categories into which they are divided. Once a
category has been chosen a list of all the charities
in that field will appear. If the entry is highlighted
you may click on it to get more information on
that particular organisation.
Charity
Search - Search for a UK charity by location,
name, charity registration number , charity category
and/or keyword. Please note, the more defined
your search is, the limited your results become.
With
the charity name field you may enter the
full charity name or part of the name.
If
you are unsure of the entire charity name you
may enter only part of the name. e.g. ‘field’
will find all charities that have the word field
anywhere in their charity name.
This
will retrieve ‘Abbeyfield Society Ltd’, ‘Spitfields
Crypt’, ‘Field Lane Foundation’ etc.
Within
the town and county field you may
enter the full town or county name otherwise you
may use an * as a wildcard if you are unsure on
the spelling. E.g. ‘Lon*’ will bring back charities
in London and ‘*Midlands’ will retrieve charities
in West Midlands.
Within
the country field you may select Channel
Isles, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or
Wales. Charity Choice is a UK directory which
is way we only have countries within the United
Kingdom.
Within
the Charity Registration Number field the
Charity Number must be entered in full. e.g. 243387
will retrieve National Benevolent Fund for the
Aged.
The
keyword search field searches for words
within the following fields charity name, category
and charity description field. Often charities
provide additional text about their aims and work
they do. Please note only ONE word can be entered
in this field such. eg; legacies, donation, arthritis
etc.

21.
Why
is my offer not showing up on the website?
If
your offer is not on the Goodwill Gallery this
could be for a number of reasons such as:
a)
The Goodwill Gallery is not updated yet - we update
the site every Tuesday.
b)
Your offer is not 100% free to charities, ie there
must be no conditions to which the charity must
meet before they can receive your free offer.
If none of the above apply then contact Jason Blackmore on 020 7566 5771 who can check if
we have received the offer.
22.
Why haven’t any charities
contacted me?
Despite
the Goodwill Gallery being widely publicised to
all registered charities within our Charity Choice
database, we cannot guarantee that a charity will
contact you to take up your offer. One reason
we have found why charities tend not to contact
donors is due to lack of information given about
the offer as well as little or incorrect contact
details given. Furthermore charities tend to go
for goods where the donor delivers the item or
services where the donor can come to charity’s
offices. If you feel a particular charity in your
area would be interested in the goods or services
offered feel free to search Charity
Choice Directory online and contact the charity
direct.
