Teach The Arts
Registered Charity Number: 1155048
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
We are registered charity who's objectives are to help and encourage children between the ages of 4-16 years from low income families and children in deprived areas to gain access and the means to learn music and dance through workshops, events as well as instrument and tuition grants.
Our organization has 3 professional trustees who are very dedicated and involved in the work we do.
We offer workshops to children who fulfill this criteria in an effort to bridge the social divide that is present within the artistic areas of music and dance today.
We use these workshops and events to reach our targeted beneficiaries. We believe that children should not miss out on learning the arts because their parents are not financially or culturally able to provide them with the tuition or exposure.
We want to give opportunities to children who would ordinarily not be able to enjoy learning to dance or play music because of their familiesí financial difficulties or their cultural upbringing.
We want to enable these children to learn a new skill and give them a positive experience or an activity that will keep them occupied and out of any danger that comes with not having hobbies or activities when you are growing up especially in deprived areas and will hopefully deter them from adolescent crime and delinquency.
Our work will improve the social and cultural experiences of young underprivileged children in England and Wales and will work towards reducing the cultural gap facing poorer children and giving more children opportunities that are not normally available to them throughout life and that are not provided within the schooling system.
With trustees from varied backgrounds and a CEO with relevant management, music and media industry experience and contacts we hope to make a big difference.
We believe that our aims are in line with the following priorities:
Addressing a significant gap in provision
Challenging convention, taking risks to address a difficult issue
Community support for disadvantaged youth
Arts and Culture
TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN IN ENGLAND AND WALES IN THE ARTS OF DANCE AND MUSIC FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, FUNDING AND SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE.
