Surviving Winter campaign launched in Suffolk

Date Posted: 02 Nov 2015

If you are over the age of 62 and receive a Winter Fuel Payment between £100 and £300 that you don’t need this winter, please donate it for the benefit of vulnerable older people in rural Suffolk.

Legendary local broadcasters Christine Webber and Stuart Jarrold have lent their support to the campaign, launched on Monday 2 November 2015 in partnership with the East Anglian Daily Times and Age UK Suffolk. The East of England Co-op, Ipswich Building Society and Birketts Solicitors are also supporting this year’s campaign.

Tim Holder, Development Director at Suffolk Community Foundation says “The people of Suffolk have been consistently brilliant at supporting this campaign. The reality of the situation is that as the momentum and awareness has grown, the amount raised has increased year on year, but so has demand for this assistance. This year’s appeal is challenging the people of Suffolk to join together and raise a record breaking £100,000. We must ensure that we continue to raise enough money to meet the needs of this most vulnerable group in our local communities.”

Please help us by donating as well as helping us to raise awareness of the Surviving Winter appeal as widely as you can! To find out more about the campaign or to make a donation visit our Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/1M4MTqc or link to us on Twitter at #survivingwinter
