INTRODUCTION

Shark Guardian was founded by Brendon , an experienced scuba diving instructor trainer with a great passion for sharks. Brendon has been focusing on shark conservation, education, supporting shark conservation efforts and leading scuba dives for shark encounters since 1998. I am a physiotherapist but also a scuba diving instructor. The Shark Guardian presentation was created by Brendon to be used as an inspiring, fun and visually stimulating slide show to be viewed by dive centers, resorts, international schools, diving enthusiasts and the general public.

The Shark Guardian presentation is viewed by thousands of people each year. We have toured several countries throughout Europe, Africa and Asia and Shark Guardian is now the banner and symbol for future educational, environmental and inspiring presentations, courses, field trips and conservation projects worldwide. Shark conservation and making a difference starts with a better understanding and increased knowledge of sharks and the vital role they play for all life on earth. Shark Guardian delivers this essential information for the next generation as they believe they can, and will make a difference.

Since focusing on Shark Guardian since February this year we have presented to around 15,000 children and adults in 5 Asian Countries and with more scheduled presentations in Indonesia, Dubai,Thailand and the UK this year, we expect the number to increase to 20,000+.

The presentation contains photos, videos, images and statistics to keep the viewers engrossed and so they see the full side of sharks and their importance. The presentation covers:

·         Media perceptions, false images and fears of Sharks

·         Shark Evolution

·         Shark biology & Species

·         Shark species threatened by human impact

·         The role of sharks in the marine ecosystem

·         Shark conservation & action
