Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) launched in 2013 to deliver front-line care to time-critical emergencies across Scotland. SCAA provides a fully equipped medical helicopter that can be deployed from its central base at Perth Airport to incidents across Scotland. SCAA can reach 90% of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes.

SCAA has responded to 999 calls throughout the country including; road traffic incidents, equestrian, skiing, hillwalking and other sporting accidents. It has also responded to time-critical medical emergencies such as heart attacks, seizures and strokes. Saving time is crucial in the recovery of casualties, particularly getting them to hospital within the ‘Golden Hour’ – if a casualty is transferred to hospital within the first 60 minutes of the emergency, they are given the best chance of a full recovery.

SCAA relies 100% on support from the public to ensure it's able to respond to every call for help and to continue saving lives.
