The RSPCA, Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, exists to protect all animals and improve their conditions - pets, farmed animals, or the wild creatures of our countryside and seas. Last year, we received over 140,000 cruelty reports and secured over 2,500 court convictions. We also treated over 200,000 injured animals, and rehomed over 60,000 pets. We employ 321 Inspectors, 122 Animal Welfare Officers and 51 Animal Collection Officers. In England and Wales we have 170 branches (which are separately registered charities), and many animal centres, hospitals and clinics. We also work continually to improve animal welfare legislation, both in the UK, and worldwide.
