MK Half Marathon
May 04 2015
Would you like to take part and help people living really tough lives in West Africa?
We are looking for energetic/enthusiastic people to fundraise for us so that we can continue the work with the Women’s Learning Circles, on Gender Based Violence and on the Livelihood Support Programmes in Sierra Leone and Ghana for another year. One way to fundraise is to take part in the Milton Keynes Half Marathon that is being held on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2015. We will provide a place for you if you commit to raising £250 for us. To register your interest please email us.
Our partner organisations in Sierra Leone are suffering through the Ebola crisis. We are helping our partners to work through the current situation and raise money for their programmes as they desperately need to pick up the pieces and move on. A small organisation dealing with Gender Based Violence also urgently needs your support to continue helping victims of abuse.
In Ghana we have been working with the Network of Rice Farmers (NETRICE) to improve the lives of subsistence farmers (mainly women) who often use pesticides on their crops without any knowledge or protection. You may like to view this video clip for more information: http://youtu.be/fhgWuY2Gbhs. The programme has included talks to schools to make students aware of the risks and take precautions as they are often involved in spraying to earn money for school fees, uniform and books. Would you like to support this programme?
By obtaining sponsorship for running in the MK Half Marathon or making a donation you could help to make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
