Medecins Sans Frontieres MSF (Doctors Without Borders)

The world's leading independent organisation for emergency medical aid, MSF provides humanitarian assistance to victims of disaster and war anywhere in the world, irrespective of race, religion or political affiliation. MSF relies on donations from the general public and non-governmental sources to carry out its independent work. This independence ensures MSF is allowed to work where other agencies sometimes cannot. MSF expatriate staff volunteer to go to the field and work closely with local personnel to provide the necessary healthcare. From Britain and Ireland alone, 200 doctors, nurses, surgeons and engineers leave on field assignments every year.
