Lowland Search Dogs - Southern

Lowland Search Dogs Southern is a voluntary search dog organisation that is available to the emergency services to assist them in looking for vulnerable missing people.

Trained and accredited to national standards, dog handler and support personnel search for missing people who are vulnerable, injured or lost in rural and urban settings. To maintain the skills necessary for search work, of both the humans and the dogs, the team train twice a week as well as attending operational searches.

The Team is available 365 days a year and will respond at all times of the day or night and in all weathers.

The team are all volunteers, made up of dog handlers and support personnel who do all the navigation, communications and back up during the search.

The search dog team is a voluntary asset available to the Police to help them look for vulnerable children, adults and older people who go missing or are lost and in distress.
