KSDP's Caring Stars Clinic
Helping the Karenni to Help Themselves
KSDP's Caring Stars Clinic provides basic medical facilities to Karenni villagers who previously had nothing. Initiated by Moe Bu, a Karenni refugee who with KSDP's help and support, became a qualified nurse in 2012, the clinic realises Moe Bu's lifetime dream. She was motivated to become a nurse after experiencing the premature deaths from treatable illnesses, of many relatives, including her own mother and father.
In 2013 Moe Bu returned to her village to take her knowledge and experience back to her people and provide them with basic medical facilities for the first time in the Caring Stars Clinic. KSDP funded the building, equipment, supplies and initial running costs and they hope that supporters will be generous in providing funds to provide ongoing support. The clinic was constructed by the villagers themselves utilising their extensive practical skills, ensuring that they 'own' the clinic and everyone is so excited about this new development.
Now that the clinic has been built, KSDP continues to provide funds for the running costs which cover staff salaries, medical supplies and medication. We thank you for your support.
