Jewish Blind & Disabled (JBD)

Jewish Blind & Disabled is a completely independent charity that is dedicated to ensuring that neither physical disability nor impaired vision becomes a barrier to living an independent life. We alone in the Jewish community provide specially designed mobility apartments with 24/7 on site support for adults aged 18+. Our tenants range from their early 20’s, and encompass a wide spectrum of disabilities including multiple sclerosis, Huntingdon’s, cerebral palsy, rheumatoid arthritis and motor neurone disease amongst others, in addition to vision impairment and those disabilities that come with age 

By enabling our tenants to live independently we transform not just their lives but the lives of their families too. Every aspect of each of our buildings is planned with unparalleled attention to detail. This, combined with the security of house managers being on site 24 hours a day/seven days a week, means that tenants and their families can enjoy their independence  safe in the knowledge that support is always on hand if required.   

Our latest development in Bushey Heath, Herts. is due to open in 2013 providing an additional 41 state-of-the-art mobility apartments but unfortunately there will still be many on our waiting lists hoping to receive their personal key to independence.
