The inaugural WORLD VALUES DAY will be held on 20 October 2016 and is supported by the UK Values Alliance, the RSA (the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce), the Values Academy, Barrett Values Centre, Action for Happiness and numerous prominent national and international organisations.  

The Day will be non-denominational and inclusive.  Values in Education will be a major theme of the Day.

To celebrate this Day, we are inviting schools and other organisations involved with children from 7 to 11 years old from all over the world to take part in our story writing competition.  The stories must be original and centred around one chosen value.  Stories should be no more than 300 words long and can be illustrated, although that is not mandatory.  All stories must be submitted by 14 October 2016.

There will be other activities that children and schools can take part in besides the story competition.  Many schools and educational establishments around the world are already planning activities for the actual Day and in the lead up to it and details of these and ways in which schools can participate on the Day will be announced on the World Values Day website (http://www.WorldValuesDay.com) in the coming months.
