South Coast Row

Five fine men from Bexhill Rowing Club took on the challenge of rowing the East Sussex Coastline in aid of two worth while charities Hearing Link and Starfish Malawi on Sunday 22nd September.

At 8am they were already at Bexhill Rowing Club preparing themselves and by 8.15 they were in the Sea and already rowing towards Hastings Pier.   When they reached Hastings Pier they turned around and rowed all the way back past Bexhill and on to Eastbourne Pier.  They were doing great time and had already reached Pevensey by 11.40am.  Once again at Eastbourne Pier they turned around to complete the final leg of their journey.  Within just 6 hours they had completed the 28 mile row and were safely back on dry land in Bexhill.

Mark Cowling, one of the Rowers said “ It was really good fun, my legs are aching now and I am knackered but we have already started planning our next big challenging, we are thinking we would like to row around the Isle of Wight, I think it’s about 57 miles!”

Mark is also a Drummer in a band and he will be doing a gig for the 2 charities on December 14th so look out for more details!

We are so grateful to all 5 men for training so hard and completing this row and raising money for Hearing Link and we are looking forward to their next event for us – Thanks Guys!!
