This year I am taking on the 5x50 challenge - not only to improve my fitness but also to raise some money for a charity that is close to my heart, World of Owls.
Every day, for 50 days I plan to cycle at least 10K. If I beat my challenge for the day, I'd love for you to sponsor my charity just a little bit more.
Most of you will know that I was fortunate enough to work for this charity for several years and I have some amazing memories from that time. The owls are still very important to me which is why I wanted to do this challenge for them.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Please join the event for support, and please donate to the charity. Last summer, they were broken into and many of the animals were in danger after escaping from broken enclosures. The money raised by my challenge will go to improving enclosures and providing the best care for the resident animals.
WHAT IS THE 5×50 CHALLENGE?
The 5×50 Challenge launched in 2012 as a charity challenge encouraging people to run, walk, jog or cycle 5K (or 30 minute exercise equivalent) every day for 50 days with the aim of changing exercise habits for a lifetime.
The inaugural challenge attracted over 5,000 participants from 43 countries. So far we have raised in excess of £160,000 for various charities. Moving forward, the team behind the challenge have aspirations to make the event bigger and better year on year.
