My Profile

Hi I'm Ken and along with Pamela my wife we formed Kindfund in 2004 when I was coming up to retirement from a career in the Civil Service and latterly Banking.

We had become involved in a Christian Charity working in Kenya in 1998 and encouraged by what it was possible to achieve with modest resources we responded to an invitation to come North to the Turkana a pastoralist tribe some of whom are living North of Isiolo. Later we expanded the work to include the Samburu at Wamba and Archers Post and the Rendille near Marsabit.

In 2004 we formed Kindfund in UK and in 2006 registered it as a Society in Kenya. From modest beginnings we have trusted in God and have seen the work grow to three large sites for Children's Homes with 100 children of our own. We also support 60 children in homes owned by Kenyans. One of the homes is for children who are visually impaired. A number of our own children are HIV positive and many are orphans because of AIDS

We also have formed 15 nursery schools and continue to support 8 of these. We run a small primary school for Rendille children and sponsor around 30 children to Secondary and specialist schools eg nine to Isiolo School for the hearing impaired.

Our supporters are encouraged and value the fact that all their support goes to Kenya with all administration and other costs in UK met by volunteers and specific gifts for admin.
