Fight for Sight wins national award

Fight for Sight – the main charity in the UK dedicated to funding research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease – was named the winner in the ‘Charity of the Year’ category during an awards dinner held in Birmingham.

This award recognises the registered charity that has demonstrated initiative in order to promote the importance of optometry, and raised awareness and funds to enhance eye research.

Commenting on the award, Fight for Sight Chief Executive, Michele Acton, said: “We are thrilled to be named Charity of the Year. Our pioneering research means so much to people affected by sight loss and we are delighted that our work is being recognised in this way."
