Carrots NightWalk 2012
See London in the Dark
Sep 21 2012
The Carrots NightWalk is a sponsored night-time walk raising throusands of pounds for research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease - and is the flagship fundraising event for Fight for Sight.
Anyone can take part: for the fit and healthy, there's a 15 mile walk which takes in some of London's most iconic landmarks; and if that sounds too challenging, there's an equally scenic 6 mile route. Both start and finish at the BFI IMAX near Waterloo.
One of the first people to register for the event was Chris Holmes, Britain's most successful individual Paralympian swimmer. As he says: 'To have so many people walking to raise funds for research to prevent sight loss and to increase the awareness of the importance of eye health is just fantastic'.
Sight is the sense that people value the most, yet it's often taken for granted. By joining Chris Holmes and many others, walkers will take in some of London's most spectacular night-time sights, reminding themselves and others just how much the ability to see is valued.
