Village Education Project Kilimanjaro (VEPK) is an education charity. Our programmes are in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania and our UK office is based in Sevenoaks, Kent.
VEPK is working to improve education in primary and pre-primary schools providing in-service training, providing books and materials and liaising with government officials at all levels. We also run an educational computer/community centre with internet access, a vocational training school and a village crafts shop.
We are excited to share with you that we have just started recruiting climbers for our largest annual fundraising event – The KiliClimb2014! This sponsored climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro takes place between 22nd October – 2nd November.  This time period is inclusive of travel between London and Tanzania.
We have teamed up with Action Challenge to offer this fabulous climb raising vital funds for VEPK.  They have been offering unique group challenge events the world over since 1999 and have taken over 2,000 trekkers safely to the summit of Kilimanjaro.  For more information please read this PDF created by Action Challenge for VEPK at
Are you up for the challenge?
As a member of the KiliClimb 2014 team you would get to combine your love of adventure with your desire to make a difference, your love of travelling with your desire to raise funds creatively to better the opportunities of others, and your love of meeting new people with your desire to take part in community work.  For every footstep along the way you can be proud that you are helping a Tanzanian child to have a worthwhile future.
If you love the outdoors, immersing yourself in community projects, philanthropy, trying something new, and gaining a sense of achievement from doing something that is truly out of the ordinary than this trek is for you. Ultimately you will want to take part because you believe that the children and young people supported by VEPK’s programmes deserve a good education!
