  • Location: Overseas
  • Date: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - Monday, July 28, 2014

This 292 mile, four-day bike ride takes you through the beautiful English countryside to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais.

We push on, cycling along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of northern France.

We cater for all levels of ability on this ride. The special cycling experience, combined with a fantastic support crew to look after you, means that you don't need to worry about your luggage, water or food.

On the finale day of the event we will cycle up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, one day before the Tour de France finale, which we can attend the following day.

  • Sponsorship target: £1730

Itinerary

Day 1 London to Calais
We start early at approximately 7am to avoid the hustle and bustle of the London traffic. It's not too long before we're cycling to the outskirts of London and arriving at Dover for our ferry to Calais, where we spend the night.

(Cycling distance 73 miles)

Day 2 Calais to Arras
We begin cycling on smooth, flat roads for approximately 10 miles, before we start to pull up towards our first water stop. The route then becomes more undulating as we cycle through the French countryside up to our lunch stop. Some small climbs after lunch bring us to a gentle descent into the beautiful mediaeval town of Arras, one of the prettiest towns in northern France, where we check into our hotel. (Cycling distance 78 miles)

Day 3 Arras to Compiegne
After breakfast we continue with our cycling challenge, heading south through the Region of the Somme and its WWI battlefields - rolling, green meadows studded with the many war memorials and cemeteries of the First World War. Following traditionally French, tree-lined avenues, we approach our next overnight stop in Compiegne. (Cycing distance 75 miles)

Day 4 Compiegne to Paris
Our final day of cycling we head into Paris, riding past the Louvre and up the majestic Champs Elysees to our finish line at the Eiffel Tower! We celebrate our achievement with a well deserved team dinner.

(Cycling distance 66 miles)

Day 5 Tour de France finale
After breakfast at our hotel you are free to enjoy the sights and sounds of Paris or head down to see the finale of the Tour de France, as the greatest cyclists in the world cross the finish line that we crossed just the day before. We make our own way back to Gare du Nord to catch a Eurostar back to London. Our bicycles will have been transported back ahead of us so we can pick these up when we arrive back into London.
