This event is being organised by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, theUK's only national charity dedicated to all aspects of cystic fibrosis (CF). We fund research to improve the understanding and treatment of CF, review standards of cystic fibrosis care, and provide information and advice to the CF community.
Cystic fibrosis is one of theUK's most common life-limiting inherited diseases, affecting more than 9,000 people in theUK.
Over two million people in theUKcarry the faulty gene that causes cystic fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population.
When we started in 1964, the life expectancy for people with CF was just five years. Today more than half of the CF population in theUKwill live past 41, and improved care and medicine means that a baby born now is expected to live even longer.
