Concern Worldwide

A world without hunger. Let's finish the job.

Registered Charity Number: 1092236 , SC038107
London

A world without hunger. Let's finish the job.

A world without hunger. That’s our mission. And it’s well underway. Thanks to people like you there’s a child who won’t go to bed hungry tonight. There’s a family who can work their land and produce enough food. And in many of the world’s poorest countries, fewer people are dying of malnutrition.

Our sustainable solutions to hunger are working. They’ve helped create a world where 200 million fewer people are hungry than 25 years ago. But now we need to finish the job. And we want you to be there.

A gift in your Will could mean that, when the day without hunger arrives, you’ll be there. And it means you’ll help to lead the way. You’ll provide farmers with training, seeds and tools to grow more. You’ll provide livestock, water pumps, and weather resistant crops to help communities develop resilience to climate change. You’ll help families build livelihoods so they can become self-sufficient. You’ll be there alongside our hunger experts as they continue the work you’ve started.

With your support, millions of families will continue to be freed from hunger. Let’s commit to finishing the job – child by child, community by community, and country by country. Because we’ve come too far to leave a world without hunger to chance.

What your gift can do

Whatever the size of your gift, you can be certain that it will make a huge difference to the world’s most vulnerable people, helping them to build a future free from hunger. For example:

  • £150 can pay for 100g of seeds for six families in Ethiopia, enabling them to grow their own food
  • £500 can provide eight malnourished children with a six week supply of high energy food in Malawi
  • £1,000 can bring safe drinking water and sanitation to one school in Bangladesh
  • £5,000 can provide cash grants for 20 people in Somalia, enabling them to start new businesses and become self-sufficient
  • £15,000 can help 125 communities in Mozambique build new irrigation systems, helping people grow more crops to eat and sell
  • £50,000 can provide 6,000 people, and their animals living in 12 communities in Ethiopia with a sustainable safe water supply

How can I leave a gift to Concern?

If you would like to support Concern Worldwide's work to end hunger in your Will, please use the following wording to make sure your gift reaches us safely:

I give to Concern Worldwide of Units 13-14 Calico House, Clove Hitch Quay, London, SW11 3TN,  registered charity no. 1092236 (England and Wales)/SC038107 (Scotland), a share/the whole of my residuary estate/a sum of money/a specific item or property (delete as appropriate) for its general charitable purposes. I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or duly authorised officers shall be a sufficient discharge for my executors.

We highly recommend that you use a solicitor to draw up your Will. You can download a copy of our Will planner to help you think about what you have to leave and who you would like to remember in your Will. This will save you time when meeting your solicitor and will make the process more straightforward.

If you have already drawn up your Will, you may still be able to add a gift to us by using a codicil (a legal document to amend your Will). Please talk about this with your solicitor, who will be able to advise the best option for you.

Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main Will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.
