Sharing the festival of Eid which will help bring communities together and help put a smile and laughter on sick children faces.
Aims & Objectives
1 We believe in bringing a smile and laughter to sick childrenís faces. Distraction can alleviate a multitude of health problems even if only for a short time. Play helps children forget their illness and can provide relief from pain and distress.
2 Itís about communities coming together on common ground as it affects everyone regardless of racial and cultural background. Watching a seriously ill child is terribly painful for a parent and the experience is daunting for all irrespective of our backgrounds.
3 To provide an opportunity for the Muslim Community to donate to locally based childrenís charities at the time of Eid.
4 Raising the profile of how precious children are and their need of our support whereby even the smallest assistance and financial donation can make a vast difference.
5 Being empathetic and understanding can make all the difference. Therefore, it is important to be culturally, religiously, environmentally and psychologically sensitive to children's needs as well as those of their families.
Colours of Islam was set up in 2008 to make Eid special for sick children. Eid is a festival celebrated by Muslims to represent the end of Ramadan. We felt that kind and generous acts provided through our project would help educate and inform other communities of the positive side of Isla
