Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are chronic debilitating inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract. They are becoming more prevalent, particularly among children, but to date there is no known cause or cure. CICRA funds vital medical research as well as providing support, information and advice for young sufferers and their families. Symptoms vary but include constant abdominal pain, blood loss, vomiting, fever, severe diarrhoea, malnutrition and overwhelming lethargy. It is particularly distressing in children because it can also retard growth and puberty. We are dependent on donations and legacies to help us find the answers, so please give generously.
