Yorkshire 3 Peaks Team Challenge
Jul 15 2016
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge is to walk 24.5 miles over Yorkshire’s 3 highest peaks, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. The route contains a mixture of footpaths through fields, rocky ascents, steep descents, and a bit of road thrown in for good measure! In total, you will complete 1,600m of ascent (5,200ft)…that’s more than if you were to climb Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain!
All of this said, many thousands of people of all abilities complete the challenge every year, and many come back and do it again and again. There is no feeling to match that of reaching the top of third peak after hours of walking, knowing you did it all yourself…you’ll see!
