Whilst many children have benefitted from sponsorship since the Ray of Hope project started in 1997 the number of children sponsored at any one time had stalled for several years at around 245.

For a number of reasons sponsors sometimes need to end their support and new sponsors coming on board replace them, the challenge is of course to see a growth in the number of sponsors and children benefitting from their support.

There was great celebration when the elusive 250 barrier was breached at the end of 2015 and, tonge in cheek, a new challenge of 300 was set.

PRAISE GOD for every individual who sponsors a child and brings real hope for the future, last month that target was not just reached but exceeded.

Of course whilst there are children unable to attend school through poverty our work is not done, and so the gauntlet is down
