Missio is the new name for the Pontifical Mission Societies - the Association for the Propagation of the Faith (APF), Society of St Peter the Apostle (SPA) and Mission Together (Holy Childhood). Together they form the Catholic Church’s official support organisation for overseas mission. Through Missio, Catholics reach out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Missio provides practical and spiritual support to new or poor faith communities, enabling them to become self-sufficient. Specific priorities are established locally and include training Church and community leaders, health and education programmes for the poorest families and communities and the care of children.
