Sudden Death Syndrome, Sudden Arrhythmia Death or Adult Cot Death, results in children or young people who are apparently fit and healthy, dying very suddenly and unexpectedly, often in their sleep or on the sportsground. This syndrome is traumatic for family and relatives as the victim rarely shows any sign of illness.
The Ashley Jolly (SAD) Trust was set up in honour of our teenage son who was a victim of Sudden Arrhythmia/Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), fundraises to purchase heart monitoring equipment and promote testing to detect little known heart conditions. Once detected in many cases simple medication can prevent the tragedy of sudden death.
