Homes in Zimbabwe: Feeding elderly people.
Homes in Zimbabwe (HIZ) aims to feed over 2,500 frail, elderly people.
The Zimbabwean economy has collapsed. There are no state pensions. Food is prohibitively expensive and thousands of old people are alone, destitute and without enough to eat.
HIZ provides food to 26 residential homes. It runs a soup kitchen and supports SOAP; a network of volunteers who deliver food packs to elderly people struggling to survive in their own homes.
Just £50.00 could buy food for one person for a month.
