Summer Opportunities at Cerebral Palsy Midlands

Date Posted: 17 Jul 2013

Birmingham based charity Cerebral Palsy Midlands are holding summer activities for sixth form students who attend special educational needs schools from across the area. The charity runs an innovative programme of activities for people with cerebral palsy and other related disabilities at its centre in Harborne, Birmingham, which includes fulfilling and worthwhile training in Art and Music. The charity’s artists, for example, have very recently had an art exhibition in the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. Empowered displayed artwork created at our centre, plus information on the charity’s history, dating back to 1947.

Activities available to students include; art, music, swimming, craftwork, cooking, IT, plus getting out and about. Barbara Brand, Community Social Worker at Cerebral Palsy Midlands, said, “The activity opportunities we have available at our centre over the summer are ideally suited to students who want to keep busy during their summer break. Six weeks is a long time, and our centre is a great option for young people to visit, meet new people and generally enjoy themselves”.
