Brake are proud to be a Charity of the Year for this iconic event, taking place on Sunday 17th September 2017
You will start the challenge from Clapham Common, travelling through idyllic country lanes as you ride through Mitcham, picturesque Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead, Hayward’s Heath and finally finish on the colourful and bustling Brighton sea-front.
No previous experience is required and with a bit of training, completing the event should easily be within your capabilities! Plus, with our training and fitness advice, we expect you will be saddle-ready in no time!
All you need to do is pledge to raise £100 for Brake and then you simply reserve your place by clicking here:
How fit do I need to be?
Hundreds of thousands of people take part in charity cycle rides every year – many of them for the first time. It’s therefore perfectly achievable for the ‘average’ person to take part in this event – but in order to maximise your enjoyment you DO need to train – and that means more than just a cycle ride around your local park! However, help is at hand, just ask and we can send you through a basic cycling training guide to offer you support.
What kit do I need?
Having a good bike, gloves and a helmet is essential!
How can I raise the sponsorship money?
We ask that you raise a minimum of £100 to take part in this event. We can help you by providing a charity fundraising pack, containing sponsorship forms, charity information, balloons, a collection box etc. We can also provide a charity t-shirt to help raise awareness about Brake as you’re cycling. The fundraising pack also contains clever ideas of how to raise money and of course, our Community Fundraisers, Lisa and Joe, are just at the end of the phone to chat through ideas and offer advice and support.
What will it cost me?
There is a £40 registration fee to sign up for the event and in addition to this, we ask that you raise £100+ in sponsorship!
