You might have been reading in the news this week that the website ‘CharityGiving’ has been suspended by the Charity Commission for failing to pass on donations to charities.
We wanted to reassure all of our charities and fundraisers that every donation made with us here at Charity Choice is safe, secure, and transferred quickly to the charities on our site.
Our process is highly secure, with clear documentation both for charities, fundraisers, and our auditors. Charities have access to online reports where they can track their donations. Fundraisers receive email receipts showing the amount they have donated. This makes our system accountable on all sides. Each donation goes into a dedicated bank account and is then transferred directly to the charity. This bank account is a secure, non-interest bearing trust account, which is used for the sole purpose of accepting and transferring donations. By using a trust account ALL funds meant for charities are clearly defined, and 100% ring-fenced for this end only. Donations are transferred by BACS every week. Payment processing is protected by Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode.
Remember: Charity Choice does not take any administration costs from donations, meaning more of every donation goes directly to the charities we look after. Our only charges are third party bank card fees, which are charged by Worldpay and your debit or credit card provider.
