EBAY EXTRAORDINAIRE 

During the latter end of 2012 Major Charles Parr of 216 Battery Royal Artillery Bolton contacted Broughton House with the welcome news he had gained numerous signed Manchester United Football shirts complete with permission from MUFC to sell the shirts in order to raise funds for local Charity Broughton House.

Following lengthy discussions with the Home’s then CEO - Lieutenant Colonel Sean McEvoy and Fund raising assistant Cheryl Michaels it was agreed that Major Parr would sell the shirts via EBay utilising the Home’s Pay Pal Giving Fund (previously Mission Fish) account which allows sellers to donate 10% - 100% of the sale to our Charity.

A testing few weeks followed for Major Parr with the set up of a new EBay account and with getting to grips with the system.  Patience and perseverance paid of when the first payment of sales came through to the Homes bank account – a staggering £4660.15!!! we were amazed by his achievements.

Two months later a further £3106.00 came through bringing the total to £7766.15.  We can not thank Charles enough for all the time and effort put into gaining, listing and dispatching the shirts in order to raise vital funds for the Ex-Service community in our care.
