4TheChildren are pleased to announce that we have helped put a smile on 520 disadvantaged local children in the Manchester area this Christmas!

We worked with the remarkable June Kelly MBE by collecting and delivering gifts from KEY 103's Mission Christmas project, to the underprivileged local children, just in time for Christmas.

The 520 children included children from the Abraham Moss Warriors teams, from St Chads Primary School, and from the rest of the local community in Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall. There are over 150,000 children in Manchester alone, that are living in poverty; that's 1 in 3 children living in poverty!

The gifts including sportswear and footwear were generously donated by the British public to the KEY 103 Mission Christmas appeal. Last year KEY 103 raised over £2 million in gifts and cash and supported over 51,500 local children in Manchester. For a number of years, June Kelly MBE has been nominated by KEY 103 to deliver this support to the disadvantaged children in her local area.

June Kelly MBE is a Sports Specialist, is the Chairperson and Head Coach of Abraham Moss Warriors, a Welfare Officer, and the local Community Project Coordinator. June Kelly MBE has several awards including an MBE, Pride of Britain Award, KEY 103 Time to Shine Adversity Award and named the FA Football Champion.

4TheChildren works closely with local community members and school teachers who are best placed to understand and recognise the needs of the local disadvantaged children. June Kelly MBE is an invaluable member of the community who we are very proud to work closely with.
